Local History Week
28th May – 1st June
May is Local History Month and all across the country people
are celebrating their heritage and the history of their localities.
At Keresley Grange we will be focusing on the life of Lady
Godiva. Over the course of the week each
class will have the opportunity to take part in exciting activities linked to
the skills needed to become an active historian.
Please look at our blog to view the updates on what we have
been learning over the course of the week!

I enjoyed Dol y Moch so much but not more than being with my family! Being with my family is easy, however being without them all was and is extremely hard!! I stayed in the stables in the room called Prysor. Prysor was a 5 bedroom room. I enjoyed every part of it and I hope you do too!!

Today on the 16th March 2012 , year 6s visited the Big Bang Fair. We all had had a fantastic time and I’m sure everyone has enjoyed it! I had a brilliant experience today and I think I will appreciate my science lessons more because of the fun that was injected into this Big Bang exhibition. My favourite part of the day was the Land Rover experience when we were sitting inside the vehicle! However, my other favourite activity was the Zone, it was the best I think. I just want to say thank you to all the teachers that looked after us all today and I hope they enjoyed it too!!!

At the big bang we got lots of goodies; we got pens, pencils and lots of other things. We did some of the games in the zone. We played 2 .

When Year 6 went to Dol-y Moch……
When Year 6 went to Dol-y moch we did a load of actives including going to the beach and going to an old mine. We had to go into groups with poeple we never met or never talked to. I would love to go there again and I would would rate Dol-y Moch as 4 stars out of 5 because the food was ok but not that good.

We are having a great time at Plas Dol y Moch. Have a look at what we have been up to:
Yesterday we arrived at Dol y Moch at 1pm and had lunch of soup and bread. We explored the site and unpacked then we went for a walk in the woods. After dinner (chips and fish fingers) we did an activity in the dark.
Today, group A went rock scrambling at the beach and then went canoeing in the afternoon. Group B went up the mountain and in the mine. Both group C and D did orienteering and then went on an unaccompanied walk. We had lasagne for dinner today and then some children went in the labrynth and the others did the night line.

We are learning about extending narrative in literacy over the next two weeks.
We will be writing a quest story with different paths to take!
To give us some inspiration we played these quest games:
